Microlearning and the Knowledge Maturing Process: Towards Conceptual Foundations for Work-Integrated Microlearning Support
نویسنده
چکیده
As a response to the new flexibility in work environments, work-integrated learning on demand is an appropriate form of learning which is in line with microlearning ideas. But in a world of microcontent, we need to consider that not all content is appropriate for everybody. The knowledge maturing process allows for distinguishing between different levels of maturity, and technical learning support based on the maturity level can provide automated guidance to make microlearning more efficient.

Mobile Learning as 'Microlearning': Conceptual Considerations towards Enhancements of Didactic Thinking
This paper presents microlearning as a relational cross-over concept in the context of technological, societal, and cultural transformation. It maps the changing but ultimately convergent meanings of the term ‘microlearning’ as they have emerged and developed over the last few years. The author reveals microlearning to be not simply one approach among many, but instead as a perspective that app...
متن کاملMicrolearning mApp to Improve Long Term Health Behaviours: Design and Test of Multi-Channel Service Mix
Work place health support interventions are relevant: to support our aging work force and to help reduce the private and social burdens of preventable disease. Moreover, healthy living has become a priority in Dutch society. Previous research showed that health apps should offer enough newness and relevance each time they are used. Otherwise the ‘eHealth law of attrition’ applies: 90% of users ...

Microlearning objects can be related by means of freely created annotations or tagging. Although such solution can help with filtering and searching, it is not enough for formalizing microlearning towards the semantic Web approach. In this paper, we propose the use of upper ontologies and more concretely, OpenCyc, to provide the required formal semantics needed by the semantic Web.

متن کاملConceptual Foundations for a Service-Oriented Knowledge & Learning Architecture: Supporting Content, Process, and Ontology Maturing
The knowledge maturing model views learning activities as embedded into, interwoven with, and even indistinguishable from everyday work processes. Learning is understood as an inherently social and collaborative activity. The Knowledge Maturing Process Model structures this process into five phases: expressing ideas, distributing in communities, formalizing, ad-hoc learning and standardization....
